May 4th: Tentative Schedule

Hello everyone! Here is the tentative schedule. If everyone for the first shift can show up at 8:40 to help with set up it would be appreciated.

I am looking for someone who can help retrieve signs during the second service? We can use the church truck and it is pretty easy. We are trying to consolidate things and make it easier on Peter. He's been showing up at 6:30 and leaving at 2:00. Makes for a long day.

One last thing: Robbie Rech was at a larch church last sunday in Southern California. According to Robbie our Parking Team was much more efficient and better looking!(my addition) Thanks for going all the way to California for some parking research.

Thank you to Parking Team!

This came in to me and I wanted everyone on the parking team to see it. I am so proud of each and every one of you for your willingness to serve and impact lives like this. Thanks!

This Sunday, my little sister
actually accepted my "casual" invitation to come to church. She and I have
had a tough relationship and I've been praying that we would get along
better and that she would be drawn to God. For the last ten years she has
been an atheist, actually practicing "Wicca", wearing a pentagram around her neck, and wants nothing to do with me or my Bible. You can imagine how that
might lead to some awkward conversations. She is now a single mom with a
sweet little 5 month old baby girl, whose life I desperately want to be a
part of.

As I mentioned, she accepted my invite and made her way to EastLake on
Sunday for second service. I was so nervous waiting for her in the lobby,
hoping I wouldn't miss her and that EastLake would be EastLake (friendly,
fun, attractive to her). I could have cried when I turned around to see Tim
Nienaber walking her through the parking lot, carrying her baby car seat for
her and holding the door as she made her way in. He was definitely my hero
in that moment! What a way to go above and beyond helping people find a
parking spot. That scene is the very reason I love this church. I know I can
literally invite ANYONE.

Please let your team know how much they are appreciated. Who knows if she
will come again, but I know she was touched by the kindness of your team and
I am so grateful!

Michelle

April 27th Tentative Schedule

Great Job!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their commitment, enthusiasm and most important...Time! This whole parking thing kinda just happened to explode with need and you all answered!

When we started the parking team nearly 2.5 yrs ago, we thought we had it tough! Three of us struggled yet managed to park 90-something cars in the front lot at Kirkland Jr. High. Then we had to fill up the back two lots (really with out too much effort). Things got even easier when we started the trolley deal. We actually stood and watched people park themselves! It was sweet!

Now.... it's a new ball game! Three of us thought we'd be able to handle it on that fateful Easter Sunday! I don't think we really knew how many cars we had to deal with!! Cars hit us like waves of armies from the movie "300"!!! We crapped our pants! (but, it was dumping rain, so no one could tell). All they could see was a LONG wait!

Since then, I am confident in how we've been forced to grow, change, adapt and control! Now having seen just how amazingly vital and critical the ECC Parking Team has become, we can park a steady flow of 500-600 cars PER SERVICE!! If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about!! Its a RUSH! With out this team.... Eastlake's parking lot would be full of angry drivers and more accidents then the Genus Book of world Records would know what to do with! So Thank you to ALL who has volunteered once or who is now a Parking Team Rockstar!!! Please tell every one how kick-a$# it is!!!

Sunday - april 13th volunteer schedule?

Please correct my mistakes by either posting a comment or by emailing me. If you will be gone and I added you inadvertantly just let me know and I can change it. Once I get all the corrections made I will post the org charts with everyone assigned to a spot. That way everyone can just head to their positions on sunday.

Two other things: We are still a little light for after the second service. If anyone knows someone else who is interested let me know. Also, if anyone has their own talkabouts that would help. Our frequency for the walkie talkies is 6-27. See you on Sunday.

Thanks,

Brian

Parking Team

Thanks to everyone who has become a member of the Parking team. It is still a work in progress but getting better every week. In creating this blog I want to allow team members to give input and help us make this better every week. The bigger Eastlake gets the more important parking becomes and making sure every team member understands the system and how we are trying to do things. Thanks again for your time commitments on Sunday and how God is working in all of us. My goal will be to post job assignments by Thursday of each week and allow an easy forum for team members to submit posts and communicate during the week.

Thanks again,

Brian
